Many of the irregularities we treat are very common. However, many women do not know when their pain or flow is not natural. While some menstrual pain is normal, we offer solutions for pelvic pain, menstrual problems, and many other health issues significant to women. We can help you with:
Endometriosis - The tissue that normally lines the uterus grows in other areas of the pelvis. It can cause pain, irregular bleeding, and possibly infertility. Medical and/or surgical treatment may or may not be indicated.
Menorrhagia - Excessive monthly bleeding.
Dysmenorrhea - Painful periods that may be associated with nausea and vomiting.
Fibroids - Usually nonmalignant growths in the uterus that can cause irregular, painful, heavy menses, as well as pelvic discomfort.
Surgery - With more than 30 years combined surgical experience, Washington Women's Care's board-certified gynecologic surgeons provide surgical and nonsurgical alternatives to evaluate, treat, and correct pelvic concerns such as fibroids or ovarian cysts, pelvic prolapse, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.
Breast Health - We teach our patients the importance of self-breast exams and make recommendations for mammography based on individual risk factors and recommendations from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Each October, Washington Women's Care is proud to sponsor annual breast cancer screenings in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Osteopenia/Osteoporosis - Osteopenia is a weakening of the bones that increases fracture risk and if untreated, often leads to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is extreme thinning of the bones, with risk of fracture. Inadequate lifetime calcium and vitamin D intake and the lack of weight-bearing exercise are contributing factors that would impact the need for treatment. Accelerated bone loss does occur with onset of menopause. For more information on osteoporosis, please see our articles in the FAQ section of our website.
